NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

The hunt continues for two stray pit bulls that attacked four people on Long Island.

Police say the incidents occurred in Lakeview between 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

In the first attack, at 6:30 p.m., a 16-year-old boy was bitten on his left arm as he walked along Parkside Road near Cedar Road.

At 6:40 p.m. 54-year-old woman was bitten by the dogs on Pinebrook Avenue.  The woman had injuries on her left arm after the attack.

Ten minutes later, the dogs also attacked a 24-year-old woman on Pinebrook Avenue near Tyler Road.  She suffered injuries to her left leg and right arm.

In the final attack, at 7:01 p.m., a 29-year-old woman standing in front of 33 Clinton Ave. was attacked and suffered injuries to her face, left arm, right arm and left shoulder.

All the victims were taken to a hospital for treatment.  Their conditions were not immediately available.

An intensive area search for the dogs was carried out by officers on the ground and in the air but it turned up empty and the dogs remain on the loose.

The American Kennel Club describes the breed also known as American Strattfordshire Terrier as a strong dog with an athletic build.

Anyone who may have information about the dogs is encouraged to contact the Lakeview Police Fourth Precinct at (516) 573-6400.
