TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - A Tucson man has been sentenced to 6½ years in prison in a hit & run crash that killed a Nogales firefighter last summer.

Pima County prosecutors say 39-year-old Jesus Zepeda was sentenced Monday.

He had pleaded guilty to negligent homicide in December in the death of 25-year-old Sterling Lytle.

The Arizona Daily Star says that under the terms of his plea agreement, Zepeda could have received as few as four years in prison or as many as eight years.

Lytle was struck June 28 in a parking lot. He was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and was taken off life support on July 3.

Zepeda was arrested in July and indicted in August on charges of manslaughter and leaving the scene.
