Former Braves' star Otis Nixon accused in scam

Posted: Updated:

A famous ex-Atlanta Brave has been caught in a FOX 5 I-Team hidden camera investigation.

Many Braves fans have memories of Otis Nixon leaping over the fence to take away a home run or stealing a team-record six bases in a game.

But for some people, the cheering stopped long ago. They claim the ex-Brave used his baseball reputation to trick them out of as much as $1,000 each by falsely promising he could win early release for their loved one in state prison.

FOX 5 I-Team reporter Randy Travis went undercover to meet with Nixon to see what promises he really makes.
