Police say they arrested a man and a woman Wednesday night in connection to the killing of a Scottsdale bouncer.
Ian MacDonald and Samantha King were arrested after police interviewed MacDonald's acquaintances about the night of the stabbing.
Scottsdale Police say on Jan. 27, MacDonald stabbed Tyrice Thompson several times in the side after he was kicked out of Martini Ranch, where Thompson worked.
When interviewed, MacDonald told officers Thompson pushed him to the ground and denied stabbing him.
A bouncer at Martini Ranch remembered seeing MacDonald and King get into a scuffle with Thompson, but, at the time, police didn't have enough evidence to charge MacDonald.
Detectives say MacDonald's acquaintances, who were with him the night of the stabbing, told them MacDonald admitted to them he had stabbed Thompson and had asked for their help getting rid of the knife.
Detectives believe the knife was thrown away in a dumpster in Mesa sometime after the stabbing. It hasn't been found.
MacDonald was taken into custody and faces second degree murder charges.
King admitted to police she had pulled Thompson's hair, jumped on his back and hit him on the side of the face while he was on top of MacDonald. Officers say she denied knowing about MacDonald allegedly stabbing Thompson.
King was booked and released. She faces charges of assault and hindering prosecution.
