Police Investigate Downtown Wilmington Homicide

Police are investigating the murder 53-year old ioannis Kostikidis which occurred in the downtown section of Wilmington Wednesday evening.

Police responded to a call for shots fired at 8:55 pm.  When police arrived on scene, the victim was found on the ground and two suspects were seen running southbound on N. Tatnall Street.   The suspects were described as black males.  They were wearing hooded sweatshirts and the hoods were pulled over their faces.

Kostikidis, a security guard for the American Beauty Academy, was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
