A high ranking Livingston County firefighter is off the job and facing charges of child molestation.

David Lentz, a lieutenant with the Brighton Area Fire Authority is accused of abusing an underage girl more than 70 times over the last four years.

He's charged with both first and second degree criminal sexual conduct. His attorney says he strongly denies the allegations  calling Lentz an "outstanding citizen" with a "stellar background." A judge allowed Lentz to post a $50,000 dollar bond and ordered him to have no contact with minors.

He's also been placed on unpaid leave from the fire department.
