Study: Majority of women are primary earners

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

A new study shows more women are earning the money for their families, but relatively few of them feel confident making financial decisions.

The study from Prudential shows 53 percent of women surveyed are primary earners. The number has risen with so many men losing their jobs during the financial crisis, but only 23 percent of women in the survey say they feel well prepared to make financial decisions.

The study shows more younger women are taking an interest in what's called "financial empowerment."
