Lady Gaga fans line up at Xcel for Born Brave bus tour

Posted: Updated:

It looks like it'll be a packed house inside the Xcel Energy Center on Wednesday night because Lady Gaga fans have been lining up for the Born Brave bus tour since before 5 a.m.

Many of the self-proclaimed "little monsters" turned out early for a chance to snag a spot in the "monster pit" around the stage.

As far as pop superstars go, few have fans as over the top as Lady Gaga -- but underneath the garb, there is a much more serious message.

Florin Gruen is one of the lucky few who got a chance to tour Lady Gaga's tour bus before the show. She made a video for the singer that described her experience being transgender for part of a book reading contest via the St. Paul Public Library.

"I was actually bullied at my school in sixth grade, and it was so bad I had to switch schools," Gruen recalled. "It wasn't a good experience."

And Gruen wasn't able to keep her poker face on after Gaga came down to say hello to her fans.

"It's amazing, she bumped into me," she said. "My heart stopped and it was so awesome because she's so great."

Lady Gaga's Born This Way Foundation focused on making the event great for fans, setting up tents with food, games and video kiosks to give fans a safe place to be themselves.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is holding its monthly board meeting, two days after it heard from a panel on what it needs to do to improve its accountability and efficiency and restore public trust.
The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey could rescind a $1-a-year lease for a park-and-ride lot near the Lincoln Tunnel. The agency's chief of real estate and development told a committee Wednesday that it should change a deal made in 2012. Published reports have alleged that former Port Authority chairman David Samson voted to approve the lease even though his law firm did business with New Jersey Transit, which operates the park-and-ride lot.
