Man shot multiple times at Washington Park gas station

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A man was shot multiple times while he sat inside a car parked at a gas station in the Washington Park neighborhood Tuesday night, police said.

The 27-year-old man was shot about 11:35 p.m. near South Halsted Street and West 98th Place, said police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro.

Someone wielding a gun pulled up next to the man, got out of his car and opened fire, Alfaro said.

The man was shot in the arm and back and was taken in "stable" condition to Advocate Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, Alfaro said.

Police have made no arrests as Area South detectives investigate.
