Police: Woman's body discovered in abandoned Detroit home

Posted: Updated:
SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (MyFox Detroit) -

Homicide detectives are investigating an abandoned home in Detroit where a woman's body was found.

FOX 2's Amy Lange reports the unidentified woman in her 20s was discovered in the home on the corner of Log Cabin St. and the Lodge Freeway on the city's west side.

Tuesday morning, city workers discovered the body. They were salting the pedestrian bridge across the street.

While waiting for the identity to be released, the family of Dynasty Myles can't help but wonder if the body is hers.

The 23-year has been missing since the beginning of January. Her car was found outside the Benihana at Fairlane in Dearborn. Surveillance footage from the restaurant suggests she may have left in a gray Dodge Durango.

Ever since then, her family has been searching for the missing mother. Her six-year old daughter was with grandparents at the time Myles disappeared. And for now, their search is halted as they wait for word from authorities.

The family has not been able to view the body yet; police say it is frozen after these recent weather conditions.

Homicide detectives from both Detroit and Dearborn are investigating.
