The blackout during Super Bowl 47 lasted about 35 minutes and did wonders or advertisers.

Digital marketing done by many companies during the blackout was "fantastic," said tech expert Shelly Palmer.

"There was an awful lot of Twitter in velocity in mass… The Super Bowl ads that were available in preview saw a 600 percent increase in recall. So when people say you skip ads but here you have ads becoming content. Then you had Twitter to the mix and you have people talking about the Brand Bowl, it's pretty impressive."
