LIVONIA, Mich. (WJBK) -- IHOP restaurants across the country are giving away free pancakes and asking for a donation to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals -- a non-profit dedicated to helping children by raising money for children's hospitals across the country. In Southeast Michigan, the money goes to Beaumont.

"For some of our families where children have autism, it helps the kids with special therapies that connect to their world and even with patient scholarships for ... cancer, things like that. It gets spread across our entire Beaumont Children's Hospital," said Tom McGannon.

"It's a great way to give back to the kids knowing that it's going locally, and going to the hospital and seeing what it's actually being used for, I mean, it's a miracle itself," said IHOP owner Kal Farah.

A passion for pancakes and love of kids is a winning combination.

National Pancake Days goes until 10:00 p.m. Tuesday. There are ten IHOP locations throughout Southeast Michigan.  You can find the nearest one to you by logging on to www.ihoppancakeday.com.
