Michigan co-ed: Taxi driver took me to a parking lot and raped me

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (WJBK) -

A crime alert went out on Sunday warning students at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor of a potential danger.

A female student told police she caught a taxi on the 1200 block of South University, heading to her off campus apartment.

Instead of taking her home the young student says the driver took her to a parking lot and raped her.

Police are still investigating the victim was not able to give a clear description of the cab or the company she called.

For now the cab driver is only described as a white male with brown hair.

School officials are wasting no time reminding students issuing this warning:

Be aware of your surroundings, look assertive, walk in groups and use school transportation resources and don't forget about the blue light emergency phones spread throughout campus.
