CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

Two men accused of trying to rob two 15-year-old girls Friday night were each held in lieu of $75,000 bail Sunday.

Carlos Alvizo, 18, of the 5600 block of South Homan, and Elias Martinez, 21, of the 2300 block of South Trumbull, each face two counts of attempted robbery.

Police said Alvizo was identified by the two teens after he allegedly confronted them in the 3600 block of South Hoyne.

They said he raised a baseball bat and said, "Give me everything. I don't want to whack you. Do you have any money? Do you have your cellphone? What do you have in your pockets?"

Police said Alvizo reached into one of the girl's left front outside pockets. But he ran when he police officers from Chicago and Forest Park saw him.

Officers eventually caught up with Alvizo and Martinez, who was driving a gray Dodge Neon that Alvizo tried to use in his escape.
