Three people were injured and a woman was killed after a drive-by shooting at 14th Street and Roeser in Phoenix Friday afternoon.
The victims were sitting out in plastic chairs in front of a home when a vehicle pulled up and someone fired multiple rounds from inside the vehicle. A fifth person, a 19-year-old male, was also outside at the time but was not hit.
At least 20 bullet shell casings were found around the sidewalk in front of the house.
Four males were seen leaving the scene in a dark green 2000 to 2006 Ford Expedition and have not yet been apprehended.
Two women, ages 51 and 45, were hospitalized with critical injuries. 51-year-old Sandra Johnson later died at the hospital. The other female victim remains in critical condition.
A 58-year-old woman and a 42-year-old man suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Allen Johnson, Sandra's brother, says his sister didn't even live at the home and was just visiting -- so it's unclear if she was one of the intended targets.
"My sister was just in the wrong place at the wrong time," said Johnson. "She has no enemies."
A motive for the shooting is not yet known and there's no information on the relationship of the victims.
Phoenix Police Sgt. Steve Martos said authorities were investigating a possible gang connection.
"These types of incidents historically are targeted but it's too early in the investigation to determine if that's the fact here," he said.
