Downingtown Gas Leak Forces Evacuation Of Businesses, Homes

DOWNINGTOWN, Pa. -

Several businesses and homes in Downingtown were evacuated Thursday evening after a gas leak was discovered

A PECO spokesperson tells FOX 29 a crew is working to make repairs in the area of Wallace and Rt. 30, but it wasn't clear when the repairs would be finished. At this time customers are no longer impacted, PECO said.

It's not clear what caused the leak.

Residents who were evacuated were put in a shelter in the Minquas Fire Department.
