GOODYEAR, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say a woman has been arrested in connection with a bank robbery in Goodyear, west of Phoenix.

Goodyear police said Thursday that 29-year-old Alegria Perez is being held on suspicion of robbery and lawful flight from a law enforcement vehicle.

Police received a 911 call shortly after 11 a.m. Wednesday about a robbery in progress at a Wells Fargo Bank.

A witness says a woman claimed she had an explosive device on her body and fled the scene after the robbery in a minivan.

That vehicle was later stopped by police and the suspect was arrested.

Police say a robot was used to search the vehicle but no explosives were found.

Perez's hometown was unclear Thursday and authorities didn't immediately know Thursday if she has a lawyer.
