Authorities in Tucson say a 2-year-old boy is safe after being abducted.

A Pima County sheriff's spokesman says King Gomez was abducted Tuesday by a group of people that included several relatives of the boy, including the boy's biological father, Luis Ernesto Soberanes; the child's maternal grandmother, Guadelupe Legarda; and the child's maternal aunt, Fernanda Mendoza.

Deputy Tom Peine says the boy was located Tuesday evening after the biological father called authorities to disclose the boy's location.

Soberanes turned himself in Wednesday and was booked into the county jail on charges of kidnapping, custodial interference and burglary.
