Gwinnett Co. Fire battalion chief hurt in hit-and-run crash

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. -

A Gwinnett County Fire battalion chief was injured in a hit-and-run crash on Tuesday.

Authorities said that a vehicle crashed into the Gwinnett Fire Department's Command SUV at Oakbrook Parkway at Center Way in Norcross. The driver of that vehicle then fled on foot, officials said.

Two passengers in the car were treated at the scene.

The battalion chief was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

    A car crashed into a building on 2nd Avenue and East 4th Street in the East Village on Wednesday morning.  At least eight people are injured. Three victims are in serious condition, according to FDNY officials.
