A Kingman man was arrested on Monday afternoon on multiple charges after tests showed his blood alcohol concentration was more than 3 times the legal limit.

James William Hallford, 48, is facing charges of driving with a suspended license, DUI, DUI with a blood alcohol concentration over .08%, extreme DUI with a blood alcohol concentration over .15% and super extreme DUI with a blood alcohol concentration over .20%, misdemeanors.

Mohave County Sheriff's deputies say that Hallford crashed into his neighbor's fence with his truck. His neighbor called to report the damage and said Hallford appeared to be drunk.

Deputies arrived and Hallford told them he had been at his house all day and hadn't left, but deputies saw his front bumper had been damaged. His speech was slurred and he smelled of alcohol, authorities say.

Hallford's girlfriend was at the home and she confirmed Hallford picked her up from a store and he drove them home.

A records check showed he had a suspended license.

When Hallford was taken into custody, a blood analysis revealed his BAC to be .276%. The legal limit to drive is .08%.
