DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. -

Authorities say a little girl who got out of bed and wandered away from her home early on Tuesday morning is back home with her family.

According to DeKalb police, they got a call about 3:30 a.m. that the 5-year-old girl was missing from the Marquis Pointe Apartments. They say they scrambled a helicopter and search dogs to find the pajama-clad girl when they got a call she had been found.

Police say someone found the girl about five miles from her home and brought her to the DeKalb County Jail. The girl was not harmed.

It is not known who found the girl. Police say they are interviewing the child's mother to learn more about how the girl wandered away.
