NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Detectives are investigating the death of a man found bound and kneeling on the floor of his bedroom in Hamilton Heights, said police.

The NYPD was called to 87 Hamilton Place at about 10:30 am on Monday after a cleaning lady discovered the man.

Cops found Charles Romo, 48, with his head against a bed.

"His hands were bound behind his back and he had some clear tape over his face. There was trauma to his head," said NYPD Cmsr. Ray Kelly.

DNAinfo.com reported that the man also had a bag over his head.

Romo was pronounced dead at the scene.  The medical examiner will determine the cause of death.

"It appears to be a homicide," added Kelly.

There were no signs of forced entry and he did not appear to have been robbed.
