Do you like running your computer with a couple of windows open? Are you texting right now? According to a study done at the University of Utah, you may want to stop multi-tasking. You may be messing up and not even know it!
According to a FOX News report, the new study finds that talking and driving -- hands-free or otherwise -- is just too tough for most of our brains. The study also found that those who think they're good at multi-tasking, do it the most but are the worst at it.
Seventy percent of the participants rated themselves as good multi-taskers, which is statistically impossible.
"They're probably the least capable to do it. The people that don't do it, oddly enough, probably would be better at doing it, but they have the self-awareness to know that even they aren't good at it," said David Strayer of the University of Utah.
The study found no difference between men and women. According to the report, the more likely you are to talk and drive, or even open multiple windows on your computer, the worse you'll be at it.
Researchers say that multi-taskers also tend to be more impulsive and sensation-seeking.
