Cost Of New USPS Stamp Now 1 Cent Higher

Posted: Updated:

A 1 cent increase in the price of stamps took effect Sunday, bringing the cost of a stamp to 46 cents.

The U.S. Postal Service says the 1 cent increase goes into effect along with a new "First-Class Mail Global Forever Stamp."

According to the U.S. Postal Service, the new stamp allows customers to mail letters anywhere in the world for one set price of $1.10.

The new mailing and shipping services were filed with the Postal Regulatory Commission back in October.

Among the other changes that went into effect Sunday, the cost for mailing post cards is 33 cents - a 1 cent increase, the U.S. Postal Service said.

You can read more about the new stamp prices on the USPS Postal Explorer website.
