Hiker rescued after getting lost on Piestewa Peak

Posted: Updated:
PHOENIX -

A man is safe after getting lost at the top of Piestewa Peak on Saturday.

Phoenix Fire Department Captain Jonathan Jacobs says an adult male was lost about 200 yards off the trail on the Phoenix mountain.

He was reportedly not injured.

Phoenix police were unable to launch their "Firebird" helicopter because of fog.

Visibility was poor and footing on the mountain was slippery and wet.

Fire crews climbed to the top of the mountain and were able to find the hiker and get him off the mountain safely.
