Fire kills elderly man in NJ

NEW JERSEY (MYFOXNY.COM) -

A New Jersey man in his 80's was killed when a fire damaged his home Saturday morning. 

Officials say the blaze started around 9:00 a.m. at a house on Palm Street in Newark. The unidentified man was pulled from the home by firefighters about 45 minutes later. 

The fire had spread through the first and second floors of the single-family home. 

Officials said there were no other injuries and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
