LAVEEN, Ariz. -

Deputies say two people were found dead inside a home near 65th Drive and Southern Avenue following a barricade situation Thursday morning.

A woman went into the backyard of her home where her 41-year-old son and his girlfriend live in another building. When she knocked on their door, someone allegedly shot at her.

The woman ran inside and called deputies for help.

Deputies say they approached the son's door and were also shot at.

The two people barricaded themselves inside the home for hours. Deputies say a suspect fired nine shots in all.

Eventually the SWAT Team forced their way into the home and deputies say they found two people dead inside.

No shots were fired by law enforcement during the standoff.

Authorities say they believe the two people are the 41-year-old son and his girlfriend but the bodies haven't been identified yet. Deputies say there are no outstanding suspects.

Investigators are working to figure out if a murder-suicide, a double suicide or something else happened inside the home.

This is a developing story. Stay with FOX 10 News for updates.
