Fire destroys Phoenix home

Posted: Updated:
PHOENIX -

A valley home was destroyed by fire and it's not clear what may have sparked the flames.

Take a look at the video the Phoenix Fire Department sent us Monday night.  As you can see, the flames were seen coming out of the home when crews arrived at the scene near Central Avenue and Broadway Road.

Firefighters had to cut a large hole in the home's roof to ventilate the smoke and flames.

We're also told this made it easier for crews to check and see if anyone was inside.

The home was vacant and no injuries to firefighters were reported.

Crews managed to get the blaze under control in about five minutes.

At this time, authorities do not know what caused the fire.

Video: FOX 10's Syleste Rodriguez reports.
