PHILADELPHIA -

Some business owners in Manayunk say they'll be taking a big hit after organizers of the Philadelphia International Cycling Championship announced they had canceled the race Monday.

The race, also known as the "Philly Bike Race," has in the past provided a bump in revenue to Manayunk businesses on race weekend.

Race organizers say they had to pull the plug on this year's event after TD Bank pulled out suddenly. TD Bank was a key sponsor of the race, organizers said.

With the absence of dozens of bicyclists from 30 countries this summer, some business owners say they are bracing for the punch.

The race brought more than 100,000 people to the area last year and has put Manayunk on the map for many things, including the "Manayunk Wall," an infamous street climb that is part of the course.
