DETROIT (WJBK) -- It might have been frigid and snowy, but a group of cyclists in Detroit braved the elements and observed Martin Luther King, Junior Day with a special bike ride.

Victoria Katanski with Tour de Troit told Fox 2's Roop Raj what was on the itinerary.

"Martin Luther King's first ["I Have a Dream"] speech was in Detroit," Kantanski said.  "What we're doing is basically winding around the city going through areas that have memorials to the people that were present at the original speech."

"I think the point we're just trying to make is that Detroit's a strong community," she added.  "All of these people are coming, some of them are from the suburbs, some of them from downtown, some from the neighborhoods in which we're riding through, and that we're strong and it doesn't matter, we're just going to have a good time together."

Kantanski said she anticipated around 200 people would participate in the ride.
