Can the president get congress to back his gun control plan?

Posted: Updated:

By Fox 2 News Staff

Yesterday, President Barack Obama detailed his plan to reduce gun violence.  It includes proposed bans on military-style assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition magazines.

But what's a plan without action?  Can the president get congress to support and approve his plan so that it's more than just words on paper?

Tonight on Let It Rip, Fox 2's Huel Perkins and Charlie Langton are joined by gun advocate Jan Colton, retired judge Willie Lipscomb Jr., and WDET talk show host Craig Fahle to look at what it will take to get Congress to support the initiatives outlined in the president's plan.

It may not be as easy as the president thinks.
