Phoenix man accused of giving son a skull fracture

Homework time can be a frustration for a lot of parents, but police one valley father got so angry at his son he threw him over a coach.

Police say 46-year-old Timothy Newton grabbed his 8-year old son by his head and threw him over a couch.

The boy landed on the hardwood floor with such impact he suffered a skull fracture.

Newton was booked into jail on one count of child abuse. Court documents show he admitted to the crime.

Newton works for the Department of Economic Security, the government agency that oversees Child Protective Services. He works in accounting.

DES is not commenting on the arrest.
