The University of Oregon's Chip Kelly has agreed to become the next head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, according to the team's website.
Chip Kelly, 49, has been a coach at the University of Oregon since 2007. He began his career with the Ducks as their offensive coordinator. He became head coach in 2008, posting a 46-7 record.
According to the Eagles, he met with owner Jeff Lurie, president Don Smolenski and general manager Howie Rosman in Arizona following the Fiesta Bowl.
"Chip Kelly will be an outstanding head coach for the Eagles," said Lurie. "He has a brilliant football mind. He motivates his team with his actions as well as his words. He will be a great leader for us and will bring a fresh energetic approach to our team."
Kelly will be the Eagles 21st head coach in franchise history.
Kelly graduated from New Hampshire with a BS in Physical Education in 1990.
The Eagles will introduce Kelly as soon as arrangements can be made.
