NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

New York City council candidate Andrea Veras is suing B.B. King Blues Club & Grill in Times Square after she says she was bit by a rat there in 2011.

Veras, 56, was reportedly in attendance at a Ray Charles tribute concert when she was "suddenly and violently bitten" on her foot, according to the Manhattan Supreme Court lawsuit.

The Queens resident says she filed a complaint with the club but it went unanswered leading her to file the lawsuit.

B.B. King was slapped with dozens of sanitation violations in the weeks after the incident,  the NY Post reported.

Club representatives deny the allegations.
