Atlantic City's Golden Nugget has announced upcoming concerts by country stars Dwight Yoakam, "American Idol" winner Scotty McCreery, and Jewel.

Yoakam's more than 20 albums and compilations have sold millions of copies. He is known for such hits as "Guitars, Cadillacs, Etc., Etc.," "Honky Tonk Man," and "Hillbilly Deluxe." He will play at The Grand at Golden Nugget on January 26, 2013, the property announced.

Smooth country crooner McCreery won Season 10 of "American Idol" in 2011. His debut album "Clear as Day" was certified platinum. He will play The Grand on February 16.

Singer-songwriter Jewel is on a tour promoting her upcoming "Greatest Hits" album, which drops February 5. The album features new recordings of "Foolish Games" with guest Kelly Clarkson and "You Were Meant for Me" with the Pistol Annies. On tour, she will perform hits from across her varied music career, which has blended folk, pop, and country. Jewel comes to The Grand on March 9.

Tickets for all shows are on sale now by phone 800-736-1420 or online.

The Golden Nugget, formerly known as Trump Marina, underwent a major renovation and reopened under its new name and branding in 2012. Located at the Farley Marina, the property features more than 727 rooms and suites.

LL Cool J stays true to hip hop roots

EXCLUSIVE -- LL Cool J grew and evolved from a hip hop artist out of Hollis, Queens, to a Hollywood TV and movie star. But he always stayed true to hip hop culture. We'd see him backstage at concerts just hanging out with us, so when I heard he was back in New York for the summer I had to find out why. I tracked him down to a Midtown Manhattan recording studio for this exclusive interview.

"Get on Up" is in theaters now. The film chronicles the career of James Brown, who had a special connection to Harlem and New York. Billy Mitchell is the in-house historian at the historic Apollo Theater. He says the Apollo was a second home to Brown, as it was here where he became an international superstar who appealed to all. But Brown's NYC legacy stretches even further.
