Brewer vows to deny licenses to deferred action students

Posted: Updated:
PHOENIX -

One issue Gov. Brewer says she determined to fight -- deny drivers' licenses to the so-called "deferred action" students, or dreamers.

Those are students who are allowed to stay in the country for education purposes, even if they were brought here illegally when they were younger.

Brewer's plans are not sitting well with protestors who gathered outside the State Capitol Monday morning. One woman had a message for the governor.

"And so we're here to tell Jan Brewer that this has to stop, there is no more bullying of our community," says Erica, AZ Dream Act Coalition.

Six states have allowed the students to apply for drivers' licenses. Although a growing number of governors around the country are fighting it just like Brewer.
