Chicago Bar Association provides free legal advice

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (Associated Press) -

Attorneys with the Chicago Bar Association will host a free legal advice hotline this weekend.

The bar association's Call-A-Lawyer program runs Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.

Lawyers will be on hand to discuss any type of legal question or issue.

Officials say callers may explain their situations to an attorney who will then suggest self-help strategies.

Callers who require additional assistance will be advised to see their own attorney, hire a lawyer or contact the association's attorney referral service. Officials say the referral service has more than 300 prescreened, qualified lawyers experienced in almost every area of the law.

The hotline number is 312-554-2001.
