Smith, North Florida beat Kennesaw State 81-72

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Parker Smith made 8 of 12 3-pointers and finished with 32 points as North Florida beat Kennesaw State 81-72 Saturday in an Atlantic-Sun Conference game.

Travis Wallace scored 26 points and Beau Beech added 10 points and eight rebounds to help North Florida (8-11, 3-3) snap a 2-game losing streak and win its seventh straight over Kennesaw State.

Trailing 38-32 at halftime, Kennesaw State (2-15, 1-4) opened the second half on a 21-17 run, and took the lead, 53-49 behind Markeith Cummings' layup with 11:35 left to play.

North Florida answered when Wallace converted consecutive baskets, capping a 17-3 run to put the Ospreys back on top 66-56 with 6:06 remaining.

Kennesaw State never got closer than seven points the rest of the way as the Ospreys shot 57.1% (12 for 21) in the second half.

Cummings led the Owls with 28 points.
