INKSTER, Mich. (WJBK) -

A man fires shots into the Inkster police station, then takes his own life. It happened just before midnight Friday at the station on South River Park Dr.We're told a group of people were in the lobby to file a police report about stolen property. The man they were complaining about drove by and fired two shots at the building. One of the bullets made it through two glass doors and entered the lobby. Thankfully, no one inside was hurt.

"When the gunshots went off they came scrambling running into the police station taking cover," said Inkster Police Lt., Matt Allen. "We were able to get them back into our station behind the door and officers were able to go out side and make sure he wasn't still out there."

Garden City police tracked down the suspect a short time later and found him dead from what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot.
