2 arrested in New Orleans after Las Vegas killing

Posted: Updated:

LAS VEGAS (AP) - Las Vegas police say two people suspected of killing a man and burning his body near an interstate in Arizona have been arrested in Louisiana.

Police say FBI agents and police in New Orleans arrested 30-year-old Majunique Brown and 22-year-old Marshan Bowden on Tuesday. Both are from Las Vegas.

They've been charged with kidnapping, robbery, conspiracy and murder in the death of 33-year-old Jason Byes.

Police say they believe the two suspects killed Byes in a downtown Las Vegas apartment complex Sunday, then dumped his body in Kingman, Ariz. and set it on fire before continuing their drive to New Orleans.

Police say a passing motorist reported a small fire near an Interstate 40 off-ramp Monday afternoon. After they extinguished the flames, firefighters say they found Byes' body.
