CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Aspiring singer Ashika Sachdev is featured with her fellow classmates from Barrington High School in a student produced video that won sultry songstress Rihanna's "Shine Bright Like a Diamond contest."

The grand-prize? A visit from the chart topper herself.

"When I heard that Rihanna was coming to our school I was absolutely ecstatic. I could not control my emotions," said Sachdev.

The competition required students to make a video of the pop diva's song, "Shine Bright Like a Diamond," focusing on the students' philanthropy and fundraising efforts.

"There's really nothing better to make a video about than that," said Catherine Goetz, a BHS student and Head Reporter for the project.

"I recently loss my father, Dan Doles, to cancer and just the connection to knowing that I'm trying to help make a difference in the lives, that people might go through something like I did and the students are making a difference out in society is a big deal to me," said Jeff Doles, BHS Television Production Teacher.

The video has nearly 7,000 views on YouTube. Rihanna reportedly handpicked BHS out of 52 entries.

"The one thing that stands out is the numbers we put in there, the amount of money we've raised for these charities," said Matthew Weidner, a BHS student and Cameraman/ Director for the project.

"I'm just a high school student at Barrington High School and we're getting Rihanna to come to our school and it's just so exciting," said BHS student Peter Chung, Head Editor for the project.
