PHILADELPHIA -

Police say a loaded handgun was discovered in the bag of a woman as she entered a Philadelphia school to register for evening classes Thursday.

According to police, the gun was discovered as the bag entered through an x-ray machine at South Philadelphia High School.

Police say the woman was taken into custody but later released.

FOX 29's Omari Fleming reports 21-year-old Kelly Jones was signing up for night school at the time. The gun was discovered when she placed her diaper bag through the school's x-ray machine.

Jones told investigators she doesn't know where the gun came from, police said.

Police say they don't believe anyone in the school was ever in any danger.

Jones now faces four different weapons charges, police said.
