Former NFL players to raise awareness for sleep apnea

Posted: Updated:
PHOENIX -

Do you find yourself tossing and turning night after night?

Studies found 12 million Americans suffer from sleep apnea, keeping them from having a good night's sleep.

1out of 25 middle aged men and 1 out of 50 middle aged women have sleep apnea and that can cause you to be very sleepy during the day.

Sleep apnea also affects a lot of NFL players.

Several former NFL football players are teaming up to spread awareness for sleep apnea at an event on Thursday night. It'll be at the Scottsdale Plaza Resort at 7 p.m. and free to the public.

FOX 10's Diane Ryan talks to former Arizona Cardinal Mark Walczak about the cause.
