DETROIT (WJBK) -- It's the surveillance video that defines the times.  Two thieves break into a home.  One can be seen carrying away a 50 inch television.

The homeowner setup a surveillance system in his house after three prior break-ins.  He said he tried to show the video to police, but they never called him back, so he called Fox 2.  We showed the video to you and it seems everyone saw it, even police.

"A sergeant called me... and said by tomorrow you'll get a call," said the homeowner.  "And to come one day, the next day the culprits are caught, I am just amazed and I thank you all for what you guys are doing for the community."

Tips from Fox 2 viewers poured into the Detroit Police Department's Eastern District.  Two teenagers were arrested.  Police say the suspects, who are just 13 and 14 years old, are cousins and they were scared.  They admitted to stealing the television and several other unsolved break-ins.  Thanks to the video, police closed four cases.

Officers likely won't recover the television, but it's safe to say the surveillance system paid for itself.

"[I'm] safer now than I was yesterday," the homeowner said.
