APACHE JUNCTION, Ariz. -

Friends and family held a candlelight vigil on Sunday night to remember a 13-year-old boy who died after he was hit by a car.

DPS officers say Manuel 'Manny' Garcia was hit by a car while crossing the US 60 near Tomahawk on Friday afternoon.

Garcia was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A candlelight vigil was held at Apache Junction Skate Park on Sunday night to honor the little boy's life. Garcia's friends wrote on FOX 10's Facebook page saying he was known for his love of scootering.

If you'd like to donate, Garcia's family has a memorial account set up at Desert Schools, account # 6000169137.
