Wildwood Considers Special Election On Beach Tags

Posted: Updated:
WILDWOOD, N.J. -

Wildwood is known for its free beaches, but that could soon change.

Wildwood city officials are considering holding a special election to ask voters if they still want free beaches.

The city tried this before in the 70s and 80s, and voters said "No."

The city says they need to come up with new ways to fund the beaches.

It cost about $1 million a year to maintain Wildwood's beaches.

Tuesday morning will feature another round patchy fog. It will be a mild and muggy start with temps in the mid 60s for the city and around 60 for the suburbs.  Look for more clouds than sun with highs the low 80s. There could be a few spotty showers during the day.
