New label identifies spoiled meat

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

A company in Japan has developed a special label that changes colors when meat starts to go bad.

To-gennkyo has developed a label that can detect ammonia and other chemical releases which indicate meat is spoiling.

If the meat is unfit for sale, the label will blur out the price bar code so it cannot be scanned at the checkout counter.
