Police: Teenage boy arrested in Tucson arson fires

Posted: Updated:

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say a teenager has been arrested in connection with several arson fires in Tucson this week.

Tucson police say the 14-year-old Tucson boy is being held on suspicion of 4 counts of arson of a structure, two counts of criminal damage, two counts of arson of property and one count of third-degree burglary.

They say all are felony offenses.

The name of the boy is being withheld because he's a minor.

Police say he was transported and booked Thursday into the Pima County Juvenile Correctional Center.

Investigators from the Tucson police and fire departments believe the teen is responsible for arson fires of cars and garbage bins around the city on Wednesday and Thursday.

New Yorkers that have visited City Island in the summer know it gets really busy, especially on Memorial Day weekend. Saturday, it was pretty much a ghost town thanks to the cold, rainy weather.
