Solo Cup factory caught fire on Southwest Side

CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A fire erupted at a Solo Cup factory on the Southwest Side early Thursday, fire officials said.

The blaze broke out in a utility room on the roof about 2:40 a.m. at the factory at 7575 S. Kostner Ave., according to Fire Media Affairs.

Smoke could be seen from the north side of the factory, Fire Media Affairs said.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire about 3:10 a.m., Fire Media Affairs said, adding that no injuries were reported.
