Posted: Updated:
NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Police on Long Island say a man tried to kill another man in a mall parking lot.

The attack took place Thursday at about 5:45 p.m. at the Green Acres Mall in Valley Stream.

Nassau County police say that Garth L. Blair, 31, of Rosedale was involved in an argument with a 23 year old male victim.  Police say Blair pulled out a knife and stabbed the unnamed victim several times in his chest back and legs.

The victim was rushed to the hospital as was listed in critical but stable condition.

Police say that Blair ran away after the attack but they tracked him down on Saturday.

Blair is charged with attempted murder charges and was expected to be arraigned on Sunday in Hempstead.  It was unclear if he had a lawyer.
